Fitness trackers like WHOOP, Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin and Oura are great at the numbers — sleep, strain, recovery. What they can’t give you is a handful of people who notice when you go quiet. Muster Up is the free two-week team competition that runs alongside whatever you already wear.
Not a replacement for your wearable. This is what it does, and what Muster Up adds on top.
| Your tracker | Muster Up adds | |
|---|---|---|
| What it’s for | Measuring your body — sleep, heart rate, recovery, strain — and showing you the trend. | A reason to move today. A small team is counting on your workout, and a two-week finish line is coming up. |
| Who’s watching | You. Maybe friends on a shared leaderboard. | A squad — 5 in most competitions, 10 max — climbing the same map against other squads. Everyone’s activity moves the same team. |
| What keeps you going | Data: a daily score and a target. | People: teammates who notice when you go quiet, team chat, a scoreboard and a start date every two weeks. |
| What it costs | Whatever your band, watch or membership costs. | Nothing. Every competition is free today and Zero Day stays free for good.Camera-verified competitions will be paid later; founding members and crews are permanently exempt. |
| Hardware | The device you already own. | None. Your phone is enough — cardio syncs from Apple Health, bodyweight moves are logged in the app. |
| What counts | Whatever the sensor measures, continuously. | Zero Day: any cardio (a walk counts) plus air squats, lunges and push ups. Other competitions also count yoga, meditation or prayer, breathing, reading and lifting. |
| Platforms | iPhone and Android apps. | iPhone app and a web version that works on Android. Android app is in the works. |
Three steps, none of them new habits. Your tracker keeps doing its job; Muster Up gives the numbers somewhere to go.
Nothing changes. Sleep, recovery and strain keep landing in the app you already check every morning.
Muster Up reads cardio from Apple Health. If your tracker’s app shares workouts there, they count toward your squad automatically — no double logging.Tracker doesn’t share to Apple Health, or you’re on Android? Logging a workout in the app takes a few seconds.
Two weeks, a small team, a shared map. You don’t need to bring anyone — most Musters join a team of strangers. Already have a crew? Bring them.
The band tells you how recovered you are. Your squad is the reason you lace up anyway. The two aren’t competing for your wrist — one measures the work, the other makes sure the work happens.
No — keep it. Muster Up doesn’t replace a wearable; it adds the team. Your tracker keeps scoring your body, and your squad gives you a reason to show up on the days the score says you’d rather not.
Muster Up reads workouts from Apple Health. Many tracker apps — WHOOP, Garmin, Strava and others — can share workouts to Apple Health; once that’s switched on, those workouts count toward your squad with no extra logging. If your tracker doesn’t share to Apple Health, or you’re on Android, logging a workout in the app takes a few seconds.
No. Your phone is enough. Cardio syncs from Apple Health — which can be fed by an Apple Watch, a tracker app or Strava — and air squats, lunges and push ups are logged in the app.
Nothing right now, and Zero Day stays free for good. Camera-verified competitions will be paid later — you pay for a fair competition where every rep is counted on camera, not for a subscription. Founding members and founding crews who join before paid competitions launch are permanently exempt.
Small on purpose. A team can have up to 10 Musters, and most competitions cap it at 5 — so every member counts and nobody can hide. A bigger crew — a shift, a box, a run club — is split into squads that all climb the same map.
Zero Day is free, starts every other Monday, and you don’t need to bring anyone — or buy anything.
